“Music to James was much more important than sleep.”

I first met James...

When I went with Ray to dinner in Long Beach to meet some of his friends.  I'm sure I was complaining that Long Beach was soooo far.  James was at dinner and we talked about math and accounting the whole time.  I think he was the only person I have ever met that was truely interested in my career.  Later that evening we went bowling and had a blast.  By the end he had asked for my number and I was thrilled cause he was such a great guy.

Memorable moments...

There are a bunch of great memories that I have of James, everything from going to an art show strung thoughout hotel rooms in hollywood to trying to fix his TV so that it wouldn’t show us movies in French instead of English.  One Friday night James invited me over and played me all different kinds of music from his collection.  All of it was awesome and I fell in love with the Postal Service because of that night.  About 11pm we hear someone yelling from upstairs, turn down the music!  We were hysterical.  Friday night and someone wanted to sleep!  Music to James was much more important than sleep.

Forever in our hearts...

If I had one last chance at saying goodbye to James, I'd flash him a smile and give him a huge hug.

Love,

Marianna
